Clem Desjardins – Plant Health Care Specialist
Plant Health Care Specialist and Estimator, Clem has been with Stanley Tree Service since 2014, with intentions to develop the current Plant and Healthcare division. Instilling his knowledge of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to plant health with a focus on frequent monitoring for pest and disease problems, precise timing of control applications to target the pest’s most vulnerable stage of development, and selection of the least toxic yet still effective control products and practices that do not threaten the environment. He has built a team of plant health technicians serving all of Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. He started his career in 73’ at Frost and Higgins Inc in Massachusetts and then Davey Tree Service in Maryland as a tree service worker. In 78’ he took on a position with the National Park Service, maintaining trees on the George Washington Memorial Parkway and various attractions around it. After just shy of 10 years, Clem moved back to Providence where he opened his own tree care and landscape construction company Arborscape Inc. After 8 years, he closed Arborscape Inc, and joined Kinder and Bros Inc to expand his knowledge in landscape design, construction, nursery production, tree and plant care.
He is active in the New England Chapter of The International Society of Arboriculture and serving as RI state representative to the NECISA board. He is also a member of the Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association where he served on various committees as well as the Board of Directors and eventually as President of the Association in 2010. He lives with his wife, Linda in Westport and has 2 children, Emma and Henry. He looks forward to continuing his specialty in tree and shrub disease diagnosis and treatment.
